Ok my stock front shocks on my 86 are shot. I'm looking for a budget shock to replace these with. I'll be rujnning +2 or +3 arms.

I've heard the 450R shocks work but are longer than stock. How about YFZ, LTR or KFX shocks? Has anyone run these?

Of course used aftermarket shocks...which I'm ok with but hard to find at a decent price.

Does anyone have a pic of the 450R shock next to a stocker?

Thanks
Joe

From what I understand with the +2 a-arms the shocks work fine. For my XC build im going to run 450r shocks and have gt thunder rework and set them up for my weight and do there full conversion on them. They can also cut them down to whatever length you need.

I'm using a set of 450r shocks with +2 arms that I've had re-valved and re-sprung, they work great for the trail riding / XC I do.

NO, you must use somewhere around 18 inch shocks on LT a arms.

Now as far as shocks for +2 or +3 a arms, Ive ran 450r shocks. there stiffer than your junk when you see a smokin hot chick on stock a arms. If you get 450r shocks, you almost have to have them revalved for them to work correctly. I would suggest getting a set of shocks that were meant for a 250r, like some nice pep's, elka's, ohlins... etc. check around on ebay.

my LT housers +1 use a 19 inch shock. I used to run 450r shocks on my stock 400ex arms. There were triple-rate ZPS and valved for my weight. They worked really well, but i got a good deal for my LT shocks.
