jetting??

i just got a fmf gold series pipe and silancer can anyone tell me what i should be jetting it at it still has the stock carb any help would be great

I don't think an fmf is going to do much on an 88 250, I'd probably try 2 or 3 sizes up on the main, 1 on the pilot and maybe drop the clip 1 notch if your on now with the stock pipe then do your plug chops. Might not even have to change the needle or pilot but better safe than sorry.

whats a better pipe? its an 89 i thought fmf was the way to go

fmf's work very well on the 85/86 but not so great on the 87+ Look at the design and you'll see the difference, the 85/86 come out of the cylinder with one bend and go straight out to the left. The newer ones like you have make a goofy S turn and come out of the cylinder to the right then back around to the left.

Best pipe depends on what you want to spend, Quadzia on qhq has a brand new Q-pipe with everything for $595 shipped, that's one of the best out there but it won't last long at that price if it's still available. http://www.quadracerhq.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11744&highlight=pipe

LRD make a really nice one also, used one on ebay going cheap so far without a silencer but I imagine the price will go up towards the end of the auction.

so maybe i should dump this one and get a lrd i dont want to get crazy this quad is just my sunday driver i got the 450 for a daily haha
