The last few times i went to ride my quad the clutch was very hard to pull. It it like 14 degrees outside. Is this normal? Once pulled the first time it is ok. I'm not sure weather it is the clutch or the cable. I did wash the bike the other day before this started and maybe some ice formed in the cable.

If you have never lubed ur cable before, then you should look into getting a cable luber. They inject lubricant straight into the cable housing, you just remove ur cable from you throttle assembly then you clamp the cable luber over the cable, and there is a lil hole in it, that you attactch an areosol can to, spray the lube into the cable until it drips out the other end and ur cable is all lubed up. It works great. Very convient tool to have around.

When your clutch gets hard to pull , just buy a new cable , they are cheap and that way you don't risk snapping yours.

I think it has to do with the weather.

They make cable lube for sleds and it stands up to very low temperatures, try some of that and u should be all set. They probably have it at your local dealer.

so dry-lube works great!!, it comes with a seringe type tip exept its not sharp and it puts like liquid graphite in the tube and the liqud evaptotras so its a graphite lube, never rusts, never freezes, and never attracts dust of any kind, i love it, sept its $8 at wally world

You may have just gotten some water in the cable that has frozen. If that is the case then it should go away after riding a few minutes. If not then there are some great suggestions listed in the other posts that may help you.

After you lube it up good with that lube designed for really cold temps, then it wont freeze up:devil

Sweet, how do u like it compared to stock? or how does it compare to an easy pull lever?

Its smoother. I have a works connection easy pull the hydraulic has a shorter pull and is quite a bit easier... I only got it beacuse i had stiffer clutch springs put in.
