450r nerfs

i had AC on my 04 450r and i hated them. i had to keep cutting new spikes in the pegs and they wobbled alot. now i have pro armor on my 07 and i love them. i would go with them or rath.

yeah man i have AC propegs now and its not that I dont like the way they feel, because I do. Its just they always wobble and come loose. I am switching to a set of houser nerfs soon :D

I recently switched to IMS pegs, and standard AC nerfs. I'll never give up my IMS pegs. They are lower, more comfortable, and provide more bite than anything I've ever ran. Plus any standard nerf designed for stock pegs will work with them.

The main problem I had with AC propegs, were the pegs actually bending from spinning around trees in XC. That was eventually fixed by welding threaded rod into the peg, but I shouldn't have to do that to a brand new peg, in my opinion. You don't have to worry about IMS every breaking/bending.

those housers are really nice looking and they are cheaper than the Raths, but i see they are listed under 06-10 450s are they the same as the 04-05

uhm....scratch my comment on the AC's. I went for a ride today, I was turning very softly around a wide turn and my right peg broke all the welds.....

guess i gotta call Houser monday :D

I had a very bad experience with AC. I will NEVER buy AC stuff ever again. I dont recommend them to anyone.

I Have a set of AC's I would sell you. The right one broke around the footpeg but it has been rewelded. Some powdercoat is chipped but they are in working order.

Here is a short video of my Pro Armor nerve bars. They cam with my 450r when I bought it. I wish the had foot pegs but beggars cant be choosers huh :) Sorry I didn't have time to clean her up a little more..she is rare form right now and I feel bad about it...i usually keep it really clean.

Anyways the one thing I like about these is the fact that the front mount actually bolts to the A-arm pivot bolt as opposed to the motor mounts. This produces a much stronger mount and makes these nerf bars very rigid.

The only bad thing about these and from what i have read other people have this problem too....the bottom panel of the heal guard has a tendency to crack and peel off of the tube that its welded to. This is right behind the foot peg. Mine did this on both sides. I had mine welded up for 20 bucks and have no more problems. Supposedly every one that has this issues fixes it for good once they are rewelded in that area. I don't know why it does this.

So incase you were considering Pro Armor, they are very strong and rigid, but have that one cracking problem. the cracking doesn't break anything that would affect the structural integrity, its just annoying and needs to be fixed.

They're pretty good nerfs. I love the fat pegs. And I like the fact that you can change out the heel guards to nets or plates. I may get the nets one day.
