i work for a general contractor when i have off school and over the summer. im going to school for residential carpentry this year and working for him again when im done this spring. we do pretty much all the foundation, concrete work, framing, trim, siding and roofing. i really enjoy it and i'd like to eventually do it on my own.

Been doing it for about 3 or so years now.
Did the whole high school building shop crapola also. You can't learn the tricks of the trade in school which is the reason why I never went back.

I'm self employed, working along side with another guy who's teaching me a lot. In about another two years or less I'll be off on my own givin if the economy picks up. I've been out of work since a week before Christmas. Just got a call today and things are starting to pick up and I'll be steady for quite some time. I also do a lot of woodworking (furniture fine woodworking ect ect)

Family business for 60 years. We do complete homes, from the start to finish(no subs). My father, two uncles and two cousins work togather every day. What we are know for is putting basements under existing homes. We do all the walls at one time. Here is some pics of what we did today.
