View Full Version : Has anyone ported a boyeson reed cage before?

The intake holes seem a little small on my cage, think opening it up a bit would help with flow? Does anyone have any pics of what they did? If reeds werent so expensive for the v-force i wouldnt even think about this...

i would like to do this too. i know ftz or someone does this but i wouldnt think it would be real hard for a dyi'er.

juss curious. what cage are we dealing with here, new or old generation?

patriot racing ported my 04b rad valve and then we went to a cr 02a and he said they are about the same as a port on a 04b
this was several years back but i still run the 02a i have the ported 04b but one of the reed holes is striped i dont know how to post pics

humm thats a different port??? i have a boyesen rad valve, is that a fmf or what? i have like a intake tube on mine and i have seen these ported..

its for a banshee.. drag port.... truthfully porting it is not going to do you any good... you race mx right? porting it will give you more top end.

I ported my rad valve on my 87R and it made a HUGE difference. Mine cage is about 7yrs old if this helps. I don't have any pics either, sorry. I also ported my friends rad valve for his 01 CR250R dirt bike. Again, huge difference. I definately recommend it.

oh, i have the old generation i think. I will have to get some pictures...

the old style will be totally open whereas the new style will be divided with a + hair so to speak. the reason i ask is because it makes a difference as to how it should be ported.
