I just got a 400ex and the oil needs changed and the valves need adjusted. I have a few questions:

-when changing the oil, do i only need to drain from the oil tank or is there a bolt on the motor as well?

-Does the 400ex only use motor oil or is there a place to fill tranny fluid?

-What are the specs for the intake and exhaust valves and what is the process for adjusting? Do i just loosen the nut and then turn the flat head bolt to adjust clearance?

Thanks!

the spec on the valves are (intake .004) and (exhaust .005) ..u loosen a nut and turn the center with a flat head screwdriver. ...the oil is drain in 2 places..( oil tank) and on the left side when sitting on it below the front spocket. there is a bolt . i think it is a 12mm head.

Engine and trans share oil.
Drain oil tank and engine at same time. (its on the side near gearshift)
With new oil filter, engine takes 1.8L

Go to ebay and get yourself the 400EX service manual or owners manual. Cheap as, and it's all in there.

Newton beat me to it.
