well summer is comming and i'm finishing up my project "impractical nova" and am wondering if 33x18.5x15 mt slicks would fit without removing the back seat or not? i could jack it up if need be but would rather not. need to know before ordering.

all in good time. right now it is a gutted interior for the 6 point cage to be put in and hopefully the back seat won't go. it's a sleeper;) sshhhh

Is the car tubbed-mini tubbed??? I would hope if you are wanting to run a slick that big.. More details on this beast..And def post some pics up of the car... My dad and myself are doing a pro street dodge, with a blown 388 inch chevy in it.. Motor is set back 10 inches  Lets see some pics of the nova man :)

holy f*** the super charger is bigger than the engine.
but im sorry it is a nice build but you ruined it with a chevy motor. its a dodge so kee a mopar engine it it. dont get me wrong i like it but it would be 100 times better if it had a hemi

Lol, 871 blower shop blower, along with a supper chiller..Big reason was mopar guys will hate me, I am a gm guy for life... Plus have you priced what a 526ci hemi costs?? Like 20k, not to mention will make way less hp, weight about 2 times as much.. I have way way less then that in this, it should make in the area of 900-1000 hp...

Back to the OP
I want pics of the nova darn it.. :PICS: :)

yeah i figured that was one of the reasons why you put a chevy motor in it because they are cheaper.
thats one thing i never under stood why are chevy small block parts sooo cheap compared to ford and mopar engine part?.
but again sick car

Thanks alot man. :) One reason being that there so many SBC's around.. So many aftermarket companies makes parts for them, a part from a first gen sbc(1967) will bolt onto one from later years.. For ford and slopar, it is a whole different ball game, is much more complicated when buying parts for certain year engines... Yes chevy stuff is cheap but also makes more HP dollar for dollar :D

it's really nothing to see right now just a ****** body with a cage and that's it lol but it's in my uncles barn and this weekend i'll try to get a pic or two. i don't know much about this stuff but mini tubbed? it's going to be a daily driver:macho. how long roughly do slicks last on the road?

Ok so if you are not sure what a mini tub is, then I am going to say that the car will/is not going have the rear end narrowed in it.. In which case them tires will not fit under or in the wheel wells.. Try a 28x11.5x15 slick.. That might go under it without modding the wheel wells..You will not like driving slicks daily, unless it is a drag radial, in both cases they wear out fast, do to the compound the tire is made from... :)

my uncle did for his 69 nova for 10 years so i figured i can make it a daily driver just for the summer, and yes the axle is going to be a narrowed currie axle. thumpin440ex this may sound dumb but doesn't your shifter also move back 10in?

did a little research...needs to be mini tubbed for the axle. like i said before i'm new to this and am learning as I go along.

Guy I work with (head tech at our shop) says if you dont mini-tub, you will have to at least shave/narrow the seats, hope that helps.

LOL if he drove around for 10 years on slicks....he would have to keep buying them every 3 months

No, 33's won't fit without cutting into the back seats. My dad had 33's on his Chevelle and under hard acceleration the tire would expand enough to hit the lip of the fender well so he had to drop down to 31's. But, they both required removal of the back seat and tubs to be installed. These tubs were hand-made, not store bought.

damn:grr: oh well. m/t says they expand 1.5in so that on top of it all...it doesn't have back seats anyway so you can't miss somthing you never had.

What kind of suspension setup are you going with?
