c-dale's service was the big seller, If the rumors are true then I would steer clear. Even though I'd love to have one of their quads...
I'd say save up some big $ and build a yzf or crf quad.

my point is, i wouldnt act until the word is definate is c-dale is closing or what is going on

Why sell the 440? You got a really good machine judging by your sig.. 'Dales are nice, but I'd NEVER give up my Honda for one. Don't do it, RIDE RED! JMO:cool:

With the number of frames i've been seeing crack left and right (kxf/z) I'd be very scared to ride MX on one :(

I'f your a serious 4 stroke racer i'd say a bike motored quad

11x is right, your 400 is very nice, here's pic i saved :p

I know its just as of late....these decked out Z's and dales and raptor just smash us modded ex riders outta the hole shot....and its up to us to work our way back up....Now if you put us on those quads there wouldnt be a problem....lol.....I just got home from a out law race in jackson....like an hour or so ago.I did'nt race but I went to watch my buddy race his CRF quad he won lol....But next to the CRF the dale is best....I wonder what kinda quad I can get thats ready for nationals for around 11 K....

Wow! Nice ride! A motor swap would be very cool, and the next logical step.

250r?

stocktires
01-24-2003, 11:15 PM
ahhh yes 11x, a new arens crf chassis (with crf motor) paired with his current set-up would make a killer quad!!!
after selling your stock frame and motor it wouldnt be extremely expensive either!

rookiex
01-24-2003, 11:19 PM
that is true 250R's are still hangin tough after all these years.....They flat out get it and there alot cheaper than the 4 strokes...The CRF is way expensive...18 K for one and 250Rs keep with them....Altho is'nt jeff at the quad shop selling one for 12K......I wonder:devil if he could turn that sucker into a MX bike for me....then we might roll on bout that CRF...

stocktires
01-24-2003, 11:24 PM
a crf set-up would only cost you roughly 3-3.5k rookiex

arens frame $1200 (maybe less)
cr450f motor $3200 ???
sell stock frame and motor $1200?

the arens is a 400ex frame the will house a 400ex or a crf motor
check it out in the suspension forum i believe (or search for the threads).

As far as I have heard C-Dale is doing fine, I would just wait and see though, because of all the rumors... but it is still worth getting a Dale, if they go out of buisiness yours will be worth more $$!

400exBro

rumor has it from Guy 432, that cannondale motorsports was bought by a compnay in Cal. it is not for sure...

WE WILL ALL SEE ON MONDAY....... we have to wait it out.... i don't think cannondale will let a beautiful work of art go down the drain like that.... they will sell to another company and then that compnay will produce...... They raised the bar for stock/racing quads for the next couple of years, no one can touch that technongly.. it is incredable....

Well I have been wonder what to do all day.....I love that dale...Its bad *****....then I thought of that KFX on there....Then I thought about TQS 450 for 12K and wondered if jeff would make it a MX machine for the same price...Or if I should find out how to make a crf...Or buy one off ebay...Like I nice one for 10K or more.

Rip_Tear
01-25-2003, 05:31 PM
If you have the money go for TQS 450! Its nice, talk to Jeff about it. Good luck making a decision!

01-25-2003, 05:33 PM
go for it man, c-dale's rock, also post a pic of the tqs or w/e i havent seen it or heard of it b4

Sparks425Ex
01-25-2003, 05:43 PM
Yeah I wanna seea pic of a TQS.

If you buy the CRF from the Quadshop they will have it set up for MX or Xc. Which ever you like.

If I was you I would stick with Honda at all costs. Hondas are proven reliable and if you are a good rider. A modded 400ed will hold its own against any dale or 250R.

But if you are planning on spending around 11 grand. It is a simple choice. Buy a Houser Rolling Chassis. Then stick a CR250R dirt bike engine in it.

Or you could always buy an mostly aftermarket 250R and Deck it out even more for well under 11 grand.

01-25-2003, 06:34 PM
i wouldnt go for a c dale.....hold out for a year or 2, 11-12k is a big investment and u cant go wrong with a crf or yzf but if u do go for c dale and somin happens and ur screwed then what? get a yzf 426 get it bored to 440 and go smoke some quads

This is a little off beat, but youll get the idea......

Back in 1995, I bought an 87 Grandnational. A year later, I went to replace the t-top seals. The t top seals were not available from GM any longer. I had to have some custom made. It was very expensive.

I think buying a Dale is a great idea. I wouldnt mind having one also. (im a big fan of a fuel injected anything)

Do a little research. Contact Cannondale directly and ask them if they plan on producing partz in the future.

Good luck and let us know what you find out. :D

My dad has a 86 GN lol.....but its got a GNX twin turbo in it....I am calling cdale....And I am gonna find out once and for all.But CRF wise....If I parted out my ex....and bought a totally built roll chassie.stuffed a CRF in it and put the tires on....that would be sick...I seen alot of already built stuff on ebay....Like CRF's and YZ's...and personally....Are the 310R's still hangin with the CRF's....I can never tell when I am racing where everything is.But if my dad is right they will still hang or beat a CRF and they are cheaper.

RED121572
01-25-2003, 07:51 PM
310R's? CRF motors? uhhhhh........Im unable to help you out on that info.

What I do know is that the GNX is a single turbo though. Or did your father take a motor from a GNX, put it in his 86 and weld a second turbo on it? ;) :D

rookiex- like i am going to do is wait, give dale a week or two to get sorted out... i believe that someone has bought them and still going to manufacture their parts as well as bikes...
so there is a possibilty that cannondale will still exist just under a different name, maybe harly, but i doubt it...

just hang on for a couple of weeks and see what the deal is...

if you want to, give arens a call and see when the crf/ex chasis will be ready, and build your self a trick crf....

good luck,
i really want a dale too, but i am going to have to wait.

Forget the Dale. An Aftermarket conversion quad is gonna be better than a dale any day.

THe conversion quad is made of all aftermarket parts which are going to be more reliable than a stock Quad. That is just fact. That is why people go and buy aftermarket parts.

Make a CRF or a PV310. Powervalve 310 Rs will hold their own agauinst a dale or CRF.

They have a buncha power.

ESR250R
01-26-2003, 09:08 AM
who needs a 310? a sparks/esr/pc2000 pv 265 will hand a dale its *****. i think your better off with a powervalved 250r or a crf/yzf conversion. those new yzf450's are supposed to put out some awesome hp did u ever consider one of those.

01-26-2003, 09:14 AM
yzf 450 is 4 speed... i think it would be better to go with z 426 and a bore job
