since the search button wasn't bringing up any answers, I figured I would try to get some here.

I melted my pants on my chrome pipe, and there's some residual burnt on gunk. I was just curious if there was a way to clean it off without scratching the chrome.

I was thinking steel wool at first, but Im positive that would scratch the crap out of it. Any insight would be appreciated!

get it hot again by running the motor and try to scrape it off with a hard plastic card, keep dunking the card in water to keep it from melting, try not to burn yourself, try it while its not hot also, any lil scuffing will comeout with polish cleaner.

I also have a couple razorblades lying around, would that work like the card if I did it smoothly in one direction?

it may scratch it up badly beyond buffing out....try a wood block.

I wouldn't use any kind of metal, stick with a plastic card. Anything harder will scratch the chrome.
