Any way to tell if they are old style or new style?

where the ball joint studs connect to the arms. threaded is new style. bare hole w/o threads is old style

Those are old style Laegers, the ones that use the superbeetle tie rod end.

You just have to find out what year and go to an auto parts store, they are $15 a piece vs $35.

These look to be old style,Because of the brake line mount on the top a arm.The new style lower ball joints do not thread in!The new style lower ball joints do not have threads on them at all and slide in and there is a lip that they lock into! The tops do'nt thread in so that you can adjust your camber. If there is threads on your lower a arm, then you need old style.Baldwin used to sell both styles and probably still does.

Ok.When I had my Laegers The top and bottom ball joints were the same. The bottoms threaded in and the tops just slid in to desired position.I was just looking into buying another set of regular travel Laegers and the tops were the same, but the bottoms totally changed and had no threads on them like the tops did,and they slid in and locked into position with a lip on the arm.It was my understanding that they did this ,so that you would'nt have to pop your ball joints out of the spindle to take your a arms off. JD Performance uses this same type sliding in out set up.The owner of JD Performance built Laegers stuff for years before opening his own bussiness. http://jdperformance.net/488%20Web%20Design/a%20arms.html
