I was at the quadshop website and could not find 8 inch rear rims. Do they not come in a 8 inch size? If not, can turf tamers come in a 9 inch size? or should I go with 10's. I think the 9 inch has a limited amount of tires right?

Someone set me straight.

Hipers do come in 8x8 with a built in spline hub for the 250R or 400EX. The are available now. We have a set. Yes, there are 9" MX tires... ITP Holeshots & we also just received one of the first sets of the new ITP 18x10x8 Holeshot MXR tires which are to be released soon. The MXR tire has a little softer compound & is an inch skinnier than the old holeshot which makes it about the same size as the turf tamer. Maxxis also makes a really nice MX tire in an 18x11x8 size. I'm pretty positive that Turfs don't come in a 9" tire.

I'm assuming that built in spline hub is some CA$H? When are the new holeshots supposed to be out? I like the sound of a skinnier tire because thats what I heard was the downfall of the 11" wide holeshots. What will the cost be? And when will they be out?

C&D is offering an exrider's group discount on hipers right now. They have to sell 20 rims to get it though, so give them a call for details. So, propartsracer how do you like the 8x8's with the integrated hub? I was thinking of getting those, can you give me any pros or cons?

the pros of th 8x8's is that you have a trick rim with a intergrated hub.

the con is you can onlyuse them on either the 400ex or the 250r.

the 9x9 can be use on either because it doesnt have the intergrated hub.

the 9x9 also has a wider variety of tire selection then the 8x8 rim.

there are a couple tires that are only made in a 9" rim size.
the only tire u cant get is the turfs and the razor mx for the 9" rim

I suspect razor will start to make a 18x10-9 soon enough

ok so if you say 9x9 that is diameter x width..right?

If i get 9x9 rears and 10x5 fronts what size tires will i need?

thanks...

Yes the deal is unquestionably good... Could somebody who owns a set of hypers or is familiar with them....post some advantages of Carbon Fiber as opposed to a billet or spun beadlock? ie: weight / strenght / etc.

Oh yeah..Mr. Beadbreaker or Beadbuster.. this one is right up your alley....lol

I've been running the Hipers for a year now and I think 2 of the biggest advantages are: They flex unlike an alum. wheel so they don't get flat spots and the way the beadlock is designed, mud and rocks don't get packed inside the rim like it does with the alum. ones

We don't have the 8" listed on the site is because they are just now being released. We will put them on the site as soon as we receive our first set.

We sold around 75 sets last year and the only complaint we heard about was one set pulled 5 of the bolt inserts out. We later found out that the owner didn't use a torq wrench when installing the rings.

I am still on the same front set that I used on my 250R last season. They don't have a single crack or chip on them. I'll never buy another alum. beadlock again!

As far as price the 8x8 rims with the intergated hub they are cheaper than the rest of the rims with the group buy that we are running. The advantages over the billet douglas wheels that the billet wheels only come with a 4+1 offset on the front which for most people is not a +:) . They also are a modular wheel that means if you break part of the wheel or damage it you can replace just the part that is damaged. alot cheaper. A carbon wheel will not dent or flat spot like a aluminum wheel. And they are trick looking with a choice of ring colors:D

I cracked one of my carbon fronts in a race last year. It did not leak though. The crack was about 3 inches long, starting on the inside of the wheel where there isn't a beadlock. I ordered a replacement section (under warranty) but I didn't get it in time for the next race. Since it was still holding air, I decided to try and run with it. It never leaked air the whole race! They are not indestructable like they claim, but I won't own any different wheels again.

i am running the 8x8 hipers with the hub. the price is the same as the 9x9 wheel. i can get new hipers for $175 a piece, they retail for $200.

as far as 9 inch mx tires, the only ones i know of is the holeshots or the kenda klaws.

you can see a pic of my bike with the 8x8 hipers under reader rides. it is the ducan 250r.

WOW that is an unbelievable price on hipers. I originally wanted to go with C&D and the group deal but I don't have the money now until i start working in march. Will these still be the same prices in the spring/summer?

with the intagraded hub on the 8x8 that can only fit 250r and 400ex, how then will it fit a cannondale???

and i was told by dusty that the cannondale 8x8 rims fit on my ex, so does that mean the 2 are almost a like???

also what is the offset on the dale rims??? cause if i get longer a arms i would like to reduce the offset then...

Dusty is right those are the old retail prices.Hi per has recently raised there prices:o

This is a direct cause from the large sum of money they spent on all the manufacturing equipment.

Hopefully once the bill is paid off the prices will come down...:)

The 8x8 interfrated hub is a 24 spline for the Cannondale, 400ex, kfx400, and the ltz400 and the Yamaha..
the 250r is a 25 spline.
