Well..... We got dumped on with another 14" of snow! I figured there wouldnt be a race this weekend so I've decided to take a little more time and not rush this build. Should have some more pics up later this week. Bottom end is going back together today, got our last group of parts on UPS yesterday. Life is GOOD

That hood looks sweet! The build is coming along for you. So MANY hang ups on ours but I can finally see the light at the end.... but u'll have that with all of the changes we made for this season. Did you have any issues with the 400ex oil cooler hitting the front plastics? With our mounting combination it hits the fenders..... Gonna have to look at it again tonight, gave up last night @ 12:45.......:blah:

Give it another day or two then we can both look at the finished products. They are both very similar....... Dual a-arms, elkas, built ***cc motors, etc...... I do like the powder coating on yours and wish I could afford that A-Arm package...... The KOQ stuff does ok for what it is and what we use it for. I would look at other stuff out there if we were running MX

Ran good BUT it feels like there is more to be had??? Im thinking a 26mm carb but dont want to loose any bottom end...... IDK?? We ran a lightened flywheel last year which is still on our "back-up" quad, Im sure that will help it rev quicker but I think there is more mid-top end to be had. Pipe sounds AWESOME!!!

miniquaddad90
03-23-2010, 06:58 AM
Ran a 40min XC race on Sunday. Everything went well, no complaints, cant wait to try the new carb when it gets here. I think it's gonna make a HUGE differance....... at least I hope it will. All in all, great setup, my wife said she passed another Honda 90 with a 114cc kit like it was standing still in the field :D

We run a built motor but rather not talk too much about it. We had some help from Bud & Dave Fischer @ Fischer Cycle Racing this year. It runs very well for what we do with it. Your daughter's quad is very nice also! :D Post some more pics! Would like to see that steering dampener set up

How awesome of you to Notice Mr.Leonard. It is a Robbs Racing swing arm and front end. Which i do like. The only thing i have seen wrong with it is the placement of the rear shock. For the lighter weight kids the shock sits to high in the rearend. i had to do some mods to get it work right

Everyone of the bikes i have seen was set up to tall for the younger lighter kids in the rearend

My daughter is only about 74 bounds.........

Also i bought the bike from Dennis Rempolis who is an awesome gentlemen............

We just placed second in the first moto and 5th in the second in the super mini class at the S.O.R.P. for an overall of 5th.. on the set up..

let me find some more pics hang on

Sounds to me like the shock is the wrong length or is sprung wrong for your rider.

we are running the black widows, mine and another friend of mine have your set up i tried three different springs before i found the rite one....... I love the shocks and set up after a little bit of playing around.

My buddies son broke his arm at the beginning of the year and so we havent finished playing with his yet...

i also run a 20" front tire it seemed to help

Swamp or Robb.... How much extra oil should I run with the external cooler? Or should I just fill it up and measure how much it holds?

swamp
05-05-2010, 10:02 AM
I run about 3/4 of a quart but i am also running a vent tube on the head run from the top valve adjustment nut to right above the chain on the swing arm so as the oil does come out it also lubes the chain....................

Really thats weird cuz both our motors do it the auto clutch motor and the manual clutch motor.. Maybe we are turning up more rpms for a longer time

could be..... not sure..... We get a little out of the rear case breather from time to time but I think I may of had it a tad overfilled....

ROBB- any thoughts on this??

ROBBSRACING

I put in 800ml of oil with the oil cooler. When I change the oil I also blow out all the oil from the cooler. Its not unusual at all for them to blow some oil out of the breather especially at sustained hi rpms.

Thanks for the reply Robb! Is the oil from the rear breather from time to time normal also?

i have a pit bike but running a yx 150 for now still my stroker kit comes but i have a 28 mm carb on it with a chp pipe and it flows great and didnt loose any bottom at all. so dont be worried about a bigger carb as long as you can jet it in right. and with my oil cooler with a in line oil filter i run around a quart and half of oil and it will blow some out the vent but not much at all
