In theory, anything will work. The question is how much fabrication will take place in the process haha. But, yes, I have heard of people using the z400 shocks. Not sure what has to be done, though.

Isnt the kawi the same thing as the Z? I could swear in order to make them fit on a stock bike you gotta trim the heck out of the mounts on the shocks as they are too fat.

You could but it would be pretty pointless. Might as well get some that are fully adjustable and have rezzis. If the install for them is anything like the KFX450r shocks, you have to take about 1/8" off each side of the eye to get them to fit the frame. Took about an hour to put both of mine on. And that was with measuring three times, cutting once and three or four beer brakes haha.

get a 450 shock. any of the 450 shocks will be better than stock ex and well you can use kfx trx yfz but the only ones that bolt in without modifying the shock is the honda 450r shocks. all you have to do is replace a nut with a bolt.

The Z400 shocks will bolt right on..

Look at the pre-05 Z shocks.. virtually identical to the 400ex shocks.

The 2005 and up Z400 shocks have rezzies and are adjustable, and a 10x better shock then the 400ex's.
