14 t sprocket case saver?

when i installed a 14 tooth sprocket on my 04 300ex i couldnt get the case saver back on. just wanted to know if it should still fit or not because i didnt really try very hard to get it back on.

I had to grind mine down to fit after I changed my sprocket to a 14 tooth. I would not run it with out a case saver. If the chain comes off it will crack the case.
