im geting ready to install a stage 1 hot cam in my 08 400 just wondering if there is anything i need to no b4 i put it in i tried doing a search about it but couldent find anything

you need locktight that is recomended for motor. i used permatex? red. it wasnt permanent but said it will stand up to anything in motors. i used the blue one before it and thank god i blew my headgasket or the 2 bolts would have been in the tranny.

yes i have the honda book tell everything about it i was just wondering if there was anything that the book dident tell me, iv seen somewhere on here about taking out the decompresion ring or something

you have to take out the plunger and spring when using an aftermarket cam

Yeah and make sure you DO NOT drop them into the engine. It's very easy to slip and drop them. The decomp mechanism is all pressed on the end of the stock cam so no need to remove it.

Blue loctite for the cam sprocket bolts.

Torque wrenches.

I also went ahead and got a new gasket for the valve cover or head cover.

the plunger and spring have to come out? Glad i heard that before i put mine back together. I dont know where they went but they for sure didnt drop in the motor.

put my cam in today i could not find the plunger and spring at all and i no it dident drop in the motor, and i was wondering what jet to put in i got a full lrd pipe, open air box with knn fillter
