400springs on 450 shocks

i just recently put 450r shocks on my 08 400ex. they are off an 09 special edition 450r only like 2 hrs of ride time on them. the are extremly stiff and i dont really like that. i dont have any binding anywhere but i weigh 190 lbs and when i stand on the bumper and bounce on it it only compresses like an inch and a half. my question is could i put the ex springs on the shocks or is that just a dumb idea? the 400 ex springs are softer right?

I'm pretty sure you can adjust those 450 shocks to be softer. Also I've never heard of 400 spring on a 450 shock lol, maybe it is possible but I don't know for sure.

just turn down the comp on the r's shock, (screw on the top), i love my 450r re/re's!

springs wont fit. back off the preload collars to zero preset that will soften them up till there broke in some.........
