Ok can someone give ,me a clear answer if this is safe for both sides of my engine ? Its a 2005 , and if its safe , how often to change it , I ride mostly tight trails with hill climbs , I was thinking every 10hrs or is this to much or to little? And as far as oil filters what do you use ??? Also my local parts shop only had emgo oil filter any body ever heard of these and are they good????

we run on 5 of our quads and the oil works great. we also change oil every 4 hours or so, this really helps make it affordable.

I run the 15w40 TripleT

I have it in my riding mower, dirt bikes, four wheelers, trucks, you name it, good oil.

I change my 450R's oil after a day of riding, maybe 4 - 7 hours of run time.

I have also ran the Valvoline VR1 oil (with zinc) in the high temp summer rides (engine side ONLY) and it keeps it nice and quiet :)

Thanks for the info , I was worried about it mostly on the tranny side , also in yalls opion , is the K&N oil filter worth the extra $ , since I am changing my filter every oil change anyways?

I also run Rotella 15w 40 in everything I own, and the bikes I build. It's great oil and one of the only automotive oils that you can use in a wet clutch. I ran it on both sides of my 450 bikes and quads. I have it in my 5.3 Suburban and my built Yamaha R1. I've used it in 2 stroke clutches and trannies as well. I sell Maxima and Bel Ray for those who want to spend more...

As far as the filters go, Emgo or Hi-Flo filters work just fine. I was told by an industry rep that the same factory making the hi-flo filters also makes the K&N's that are twice as much $$$. You should only pay about $4 for an oil filter.

Question if you run the more high $$ stuff like bel ray , amsoil etc what if any difernece does it make in the amount of hours you can run on the oil . In my 2009 Jeep rubicon I run royal purple , more money but twice the mileage on oil change , so if I was to run amsoil , bel ray etc would it be like that

I have run and will continue to run the 15-40 in my quad, truck, and anything else that I own that has a motor. Ive never had any problems and its really easy to get my hands on. I hate people who dog on this oil and never used it. I will NEVER pay for amsoil or any of that nonsense.

SHELL ROTELA IS A GOOD OIL i perfer to use amsoil it has the most ppm (parts per million) of zinic witch is great for lubrication and also disapats the heat beter so your motor runs cooler but it is pricey as for royal purple i wouldn't run that junk in my lawnmore

I am running the 5W40 synthetic in my 2008 Rancher. It is wet clutch compatable. For the price it is a pretty good oil.

Amsoil is all I ever use in my Honda's and my vehicles. I have the 0W-40 in my 2006 Rincon, 2005 and 2000 Ranchers. All of them were changed to 100% synthetic before they reached 5 hrs of use. The Rincon see's the most use, about 500-700 miles yearly on the same oil change. The Ranchers get used less so I change oil every 2 yrs on them. Btw-I took the Rincon to the dealer for the recommended valve adjustment for the first time at 1500 miles. The dealer service manager scolded me because I was supposed to have it done 1 or 2 times before then. Much to his surprise the valves were within spec and they did not need to adjust anything so he did not charge me.

Use what you want, if cheap oil is your preference then by all means change it every 5 hrs and be happy. 10 yrs of yearly oil changes with the AMSOIL has proven to work very well for me that I run it in my 2008 GMC and my 2009 Cadillac.

I have got the same results running a combo of Honda GN4 and Rotella.

I agree that the Amsoil is better, but in certain applications, is it justified for the price? Its a personal choice I guess.
