I jus put in the high comp piston and im only running 93 octane and my valves or cam chain is ticking would running low octane do this? my cam chain isnt wore out i have a mcct and it has plenty left and my valves are adjusted

you could try a higher octane but I'm doubting thats it

it could be when running to low of a octane you with get detonation which sounds like a pinging or ticking...good rule of thumb is anything over 12.5:1 you should run high octane 100+

what you are hearing is a fuel knock. try a higher octane fuel and that should take care of it.

Did you check out your valves when you had it apart. Just an FYI a lot of the pistons that are made for our quad as well as the drze will not give you the advertised compression unless you run the drze base gasket. Just putting in the drze base gasket gives you 12.2:1 on the stock piston. I just put in the base gasket and hotcams and mine ticks a bit more than it did. These motors are just noisy...:confused: What compression are you running?
