Hey guys,
I'm sure this has been beat to death but I keep haveing bending issues with my stock handlebars and want to go with a good aftermarket set and like everyone I dont want to get hosed so I thought I would ask the question and see what response I got.
I suppose some general info about me and my 400ex would be helpfull. first the bike, its a 2007 400ex mostly stock except a sparks advance key and tires and wheels thats it. I primarly ride trails in Ocala national forest and at Croom.
I am a larger guy at about 215lbs. but I'm only 5'9". I hardly ever jump the bike because of the handlebar issue. but I due ride the woops pretty hard.
I dont know if it matters or not but its always the left side that bends frist. any help would be great guys thanks.

Pro Taper EVO oversized work great for me . (6-3 250) I have it on my 400 and 450. I went with the Trail Tech Oversized clamp..looks good and has a sweet TRX emblem on it. My 400 stock ones were bent and initially I bought Renthals but you have to mod things to make em fit on the throttle side. Not a big fan of that. On the EVO's everything fit perfect. Just my 2 cents.

You can get a good deal on both through Motosport.com. They were the cheapest I found.

they look like the 7/8 bars but he doesnt have all the crap a stock bike has on he has put on the teather instead of the box and with out the black ignition cover it makes everything look bigger.

Its an Illusion :-)

the first one was yes but this last one was just out normal trail riding and getting on the whoops pretty hard. I really didnt even notice it till I loaded up to go home and they looked weird so I looked closer and the left side is bending down right at the clamp. and I have never wrecked these.

tuff call on a set of good bars that wont bend, but ive never had any bother with plain old renthals, mine are off a tlr 450

ok, well I guess what I'm not understanding is all the diffrent bends. I mean how do I know what bends are best and what not? just because they say 400ex on ebay doesnt mean anything unfortunatly.

Dont know your budget but if you want to spend money on a good set of bars, id say FLEXX or the new ATV FOUR PLAY SOFT BARS, if those are to much, id say the renthal fat bars are pretty good.

thanks very much, I'm leaning towards the fat bars.

my vote goes for the t2's. they are a bit wide but i like them. I have high bends with conversion risers from the stock ones so it puts it just about the stock height. steve

oh and i looovvvveee the satin black look with the bar pad on them. they really set my machine off to me. I have some red hurricane grips on them and love the setup. it really helps with the vibrations just with a nice set of bars. steve

Wow, it looks to be narrowing down to tags. I've been watching ebay for a week now and never come across deals like that. I did however get a phone call from a freind at my local dealer that said he had a set of renthal bars that a customer bought and didnt like so he bought them back for cheep and would pass that on to me if I wanted them. is 25 buck a good deal on damn near new 7/8 flat black renthals? they dont have a scratch on them. dont even look like he mounted then:confused:

not bad at all IMO. Id get some different bars but no reason in wasting my money on 7/8" bars when it can go towards my stem and such
