Guys need some help. Just bought a swing arm from Tim at Stellar and I need to remove front bushings on my 86. How in the world do you remove them? It has been since 86 since these babies have been removed same with carrier bearings.

I need some direction on removing the bushings and also the carrier bearings.

On there 86 Quad R shows a tool you can make to remove the front bushings.

I personally just removed them and the carrier bearings with a BFH and some heat.

A secret I found to getting those out on the 89 without using heat, not sure if its the same...

1. pop out all the needle bearings from the bearing race, and bend down the outer edge of the bearing race as much as you can ( I use a blind bearing puller)

2. Use a 1 - 3/4" Pipe tap (pretty sure on this size I can check if needed), thread it in about 5 thread lengths and it will only catch the outer race of the needle bearing. (make sure you thread it in straight just watch to make sure its sides don't hit the swing arm, its not too hard as these hold it aligned)

3. put a rod through to the tap from the other side and hammer it out.

4. Repeat on other side

Cheers
