This thing is SWEEEET!!!! ONE OF A KIND! Bidding ends on Wednesday evening!

Ebay Item Number: 290404081879

Description:

Honda TRX 250r fanatics, this is what you have been waiting for! We all love our bikes, and they have become rarer as the days pass. I took it upon myself to make something that really stands out and is one of a kind. Up for auction is a mosaic that I have put many hours of work into to get it right. You will receive this mosaic (without the "sample" lettering of course) printed on a glossy 36" x 27" poster (I tried to make it an even 2' x 3' but the image would not re-shape correctly). This poster will look absolutely amazing mounted in a frame, or even hung in a garage without a frame.

There are 2,500 tiles, and over 250 different pictures of 250r's that I have accumulated over the internet and taken in real life. If you have posted pictures of your bike (not copy written), there is a good chance it is in this mosaic somewhere. The main picture is of a 1988 TRX 250r (completely stock).

The hardest problem was reaching a desired resolution. In the past, I was able to print out smaller posters, but I found out that when I blew up the image, it was distorted. After a lot of research I finally figured out how to make the images keep their attributes and stay crisp and sharp throughout, and that is why I am offering this poster to you today.

Will I make more of these? It depends on the outcome of this Ebay Auction. If there is no interest, I will simply stop.

Can I make other sizes? Yes I can, and this is something I may do in the future. I wanted to start off BIG!

What other bikes can I create? I can make anything the main image, if you have a request (i.e. your personal bike in the background), let me know and this is something that can be worked out.

Can I print this on canvas, t-shirts, mugs, etc? Yes, but I think posters will be the most desired for an image like this one. If interest is extremely high, I would look at converting to canvas printing.

Why is the picture a bit distorted, and why can I not make out the smaller pictures? Ebay does not allow me to upload a large image file (35 MB), so I had to sacrifice size and quality in order to post the picture on Ebay. Your poster will print clear and crisp!

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me. Please allow approximately a week or so for me to have everything printed out and and packed correctly. I would hate for this to get damaged in the mail.

Starting bid will cover all processing costs - any other bids over that will be strictly for profit.

I enjoy computers & technology, and I have a great appreciation for the TRX 250r. Any profit will go towards my new 250r that I am working on building.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL & HOPEFULLY MORE POSTERS TO COME!

For those of you that want to see more of these posters....

I know that the price is steep for the 2' x 3' poster. Would you be more interested in smaller ones (I.e. An 11" x "17 for around $20)? I am thinking about throwing one of those into the current auction as well. I am trying to get a feel of what people truly want. I personally am having a huge one made to put in the garage but I am not sure of others.

On another note:

If you have approximately 50+ pictures, I can make you a personal poster with JUST YOUR bike(s). The more pictures the better though. PM me for more info.

Yes, but try blowing up your photo's to a large resolution and see how nice they turn out :)

Also, try and get yours to look as good as mine...

I didn't do this overnight and this isn't as simple as you think.

I am glad you found some resources for making photo mosaics. Unfortunately I have used the software listed, and it will not quite do the job if you want to make professional quality posters. For those of you that know about technology, you cannot enlarge a low resolution mosaic (the end result for free photo mosaic software) - it will turn out terrible.

I do encourage you to try this out - the outcome will reflect a photo that would look halfway descent on a 15" computer monitor or printed on a 4" x 6" photo. Please, let me know the outcome when you enlarge.

Don't try to bash people for their hard work, and do a little homework (i.e. try out the software for yourself before you post a comment) before you give your .02

Jesus, calm down Beavis - you're doing a good job living up to that username you chose for yourself.

I just threw the 1st googled link I found for free software onto here. For what you're charging I could dig a lil and find paid software that will create the file in hi-res - then one could bring it to a print shop and have it printed for probably less.

Regardless - before you get your panties bunched up any further - I'm not trying to out you of any buisness or big money - but - for all 5 of your posts I'm a lil leery and if I see a cheaper way for members here to 'DIY' then why not?

Also - lol - please don't talk down to me about 'technology' and how much you know compared to how 'little' I do ... that will not be a fun road for your to travel my friend.

I was simply stating my mind off the cuff as you listed the first link you ran across on Google. No hard feelings. Yes you can buy software for ~$75, gather pictures, resize properly, edit some more (I use Adobe Suite - $900), take to print shop (pay more money depending on what size), and voila!

I simply took the work out of it for those less technologically inclined (and not for a bad price), and I thought it turned out pretty well for a one of a kind piece.

I would love to sell them for 10 if I got them for free. I paid 50 for a 2' x 3' on glossy paper. I'm going to have to find a cheaper place to get it printed.

See my listing now...

I found out why it was so expensive. The printing place said that they usually print only vinyl signs with the ink/printer that they used for my poster (thus the reason why they are charging me $50). They won't bring the price down because they will not make any money on it, so I dropped the price and will take a loss. I am looking for a regular printing company in my area, so keep an eye out for better prices. I did not realize this in the beginning or else the starting price would have been much lower. New starting price is $35.

another cool thing you TRX guys can do is rasterize your bike into a picture that is as big as the wall of your garage.

I always thought this was a fun, diy, at home thing for car pics, bikes, sports idols etc etc - check it out.

don't let the website url throw you off - it's very cool.
