Well I picked this one up last weekend. It's a 2003 Yamaha YZ 125. This one sat on Craigslist few about two weeks. Seller was asking $700.00 and listed it as " needs top end and cylinder"

Long story short. It just needed a new piston & rings and a good bath.

Before

After

Total investment $560.00
Now I need some opinions on the sale price on this one. Runs perfect FMF Complete exhaust, Renthal Bars . new sprockets. New graphics.

Thanks

thats what i normally do, if i dont need the money, i get something cheap and i just will sit on it, 20 years down the road its gonna be worth way more then what it is now... and in most cases i dont ride it as much so its not getting beat...

Was that 560.00 total or was it 560+700 to fix the bike? Looks great nice job.:D

Pull the Yamaha off the swing arm, the ripped stickers take away from the overall cleanliness of the bike.

Around here a clean 125 brings $1200-$1500

You don't have to have it re nikasiled if it isn't gouged or chipping, but you do have to make sure you use the right piston and the ring end gap is good. There are pistons available in very slightly larger increments for use in nikasiled cylinders that are a little wore.

Damn that's a sharp bike. I can't believe you haven't sold it. I've got guys lined up for my 2003. My phone has been ringing all day. Sold for $1,400 a half hour ago.
