Gas Tank Deminsions Needed!

Hey there guys, my gas tank broke today, this is the 3rd time and i am fed up with it,so i am going to get a plastic one off another bike and make some new mounts for it to fit

I need the LxWxH of the following gas tanks

z400

250r

blaster

yfz

outlaw

predator


Any other reccomendations would be great!

i can measure my 400ex tank i have sitting in a box when i get home, or have you already determined that won't work?

old metal tank pita, why dont you get a plastic ims or clarke replacement? id take a xr , crf 70 tank and make mounts to align everything

Ok, the tank keeps on breaking this is the third time having tank related issues, let alone the bolts come loose after every ride, i dont want a clarke or IMS 1 because of the price and 2 my anitvibe steering stem is lower than stock and the antivibe mounts hit the gas tank, so i had to bend it in quite a bit, i figured most of the tanks i am looking deminsions for are cheeper than a stck used 300ex anyway. I have no problem welding anything or modding anything. It would also make a nice write up in the 300ex section.

As far as a 400ex tank, i didnt list it because it seems like that the tank is fastened by straps, not bolts.If it bolts up ,then yes i would love some deminsions

My dads 400 tank bolts in... don't think I've ever seen a quad tank with straps.

400ex's have two bolts in the front and two straps on the sides

xr 70 tank should fit nicely under the plastic, they have one center bolt in the back and one in the front, you could take some flat stock and go off of each bend it to fit and bolt it to your stock locations, there like $35 on ebay

Only 1.5 gallons though, i need a lil more, that built 250x motor sucks some fuel

Back when I raced the 300 class I went through quite a few gas tanks. Those rubber grommets get torn up and next thing you know the tank is slapping metal and cracking. I had 2 tanks that I swapped out and kept JB welding them. You could just get a brand new aftermarket tank and heat it up where ur stem is going to be and put dents in it. 1.5 gallons will get you far on a MX track. I wouldn't worry about it at all. Just check your feul between motos.
