Disc brakes on a Outlaw 90?

I just sold my son's Outlaw 90. the father who just bought the quad was asking me about a disc brake conversion. His son is having a hard time pulling the levers hard enough to stop the quad. The Pred is the same bolt pattern and I see disc brakes on them at the mx tracks. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

You can get a complete bolt on kit, but its like $800.
