i dont know, thats a little iffy... depends on the chassis and how much you can do your self, normally they use newer motors in the hybreds but you can do anything you would like, its all down to what you want to tool around on...

any chassis with a raidiator already built in it would be best. what size is the motor?

i would look at the banshee for a few reasons, 1 theres alot of them you can get parts really cheap. it has a raidator and i dont think you will be on a mx track racing it so the handling that the 250r would be beter at wouldnt really matter that much, i would check out the shee also cause it already is set up for a backwards kick, i dont know about with the sx motors but i know on the crf and yzf's and every other type of a hybred i've seen done in a 250r or 400ex chassis they had to make an extension for the kicker to clear the frame rail, i dont think you would have to worry about that if you got a shee... it takes a little time to get it done right, your center of the PB(pivot bolt) and the cent of the sprocket have the be centered in a straight line then the front and rear sprockets have the get alined in a left to right action.

try a warrior frame, pretty much the same as a banshee but a lot cheaper for parts

I would stay away from banshee and warrior frames. Get something with good geometry so that it handles well. 250r, 400ex.

no way the 400ex is the same geometry as the 250r. Trust me ive owned both and they are totally different, I had to put a-arms and shocks on my 400 to get it somewhat close to my 250r and my stock 250r would still outhandle it anyday of the week

400ex isnt near the geo of a 250r... and half 250r's are already chopped up... he just would have to get a hybred chassis....

i have owned both as well, yes they are sim in geometry..a-arms to the swing arm all very sim. why do you think service honda uses a 400 frame..cause it is sim to the 250r geometry in ways...just sayin don't hack a good frame they are rare to come by.. sim means somethings are like, does not mean the bike is the same. out of all the bikes out there the 400 and 250r are the closest

i dont know, that gas gas is really like the 250r also, I never have rode a 400ex that has felt the same as a 250r.... hybred or not...
