Compression Tester

Sorry if I repeat another post but my question is, Is there a special Honda Compression Tester or can you get one at a local auto parts store?

bought mine from Harbor Freight for $20, came w/ 4 fittings, extended hose and hard case, works great

I bought A harbour freight one knowing they are cheap, I wish now that I spent a little more and got a decent one.

I have only used mine like 5 time and now the hose leaks so its really hard to get a good reading. And the plastic gauge cover fell off for apparently no reason.

It was great the first couple of time I had to use it but If you are wanting one to have around for a while I would not get this one.

I know HF does have some very cheaply made stuff but i am pleased with their tester, had it almost 2 years now and no problems and it has been used quite a bit, the only part i didnt like is how the sizes wernt marked on the fittings, used a dremel on them

Yeah I have varying luck at HF I bought a cheap grinder a while ago because I had to do some fiber glassing and didn't want to screw up my nice one. The first grinder lasted all of 2 hours. Took it back and got another one and it is still going like 3 years later.

I just don't think they have much quality control on the products they get and that is why it is so cheap there...

Sears has a nice one for $50 - $60.00 dollars. Well worth the investment.

I picked one up at Harbor Frieght this weekend. Checked it out and I'm way down on compression. I don't know what the spec is (I would guess around 120-140), but I'd bet that 15 psi just isn't good enough...

WOW, stock is 100-120 psi, mines a 99 and still at about 118 psi with nothing done, sure there wasnt any leaks? did you check it with the throttle wide open? does a bike even run or move at 15 psi, of course you did buy a tester for a reason prolly

You aren't just reading it at the first tick of the needle are you? Somethin definitely blew if you got that little compression, Or maybe a valve stuck open?

Need to crank it over a few times to make sure its an accurate reading tbh.

Sure I let it roll over more than one time. I could let it crank over till next week and it wouldn't build any more. I'm sure you get all types here, but I assure you that I can read the gauge. lol. I bet that it will be obvious when I do find it.
