my ex will run for 400 yrds great then start bogging and turn off any ideas of what to check thanks

Check the entire fuel system. Tank, Tank screen, the fuel itself, the screen that is in the fuel intake tube on the carb, clean the carb. Rebuild the carb. Check the acceleration pump on the carb.

check all this first.

if not there check the ignition and coil. it may be getting hot and shorting out.
