300ex vs. 250x

Ok here it is. My 2002 300ex witch is in my sig or my friends 87 250x with a pro circuit T-4 complete, uni filter, 22in back dirt devils. So who will win but i know it will be close.

I like 250x's better. Better look. I like the way mine can do corners and such. I have more mods then the one you just listed though. I basiclly have a 300ex engine......soo......Frame wise i like the 250x. I also like the kick starting over battery, Mines a 92 though. The 250x might have some issues with it being that old.

I have a 250x with T4,unifilter, and shredders. Some kid at my shop was wonderin the same thing cause he has a 300ex. Do you happen to go to Indiana County Technology Center?

what do you mean better look? the only difference is color choices. other thanthat, they dont handle any different, i have heard the 250x is slightly faster, i dont know why though

They are pretty much the same as far as top speed goes, I've owned both. I guess it all depends on whether you want to kick it over or push a button...

save weight and pay a 900+ differnce for a sticker tha lies and says it a real 300 cc its only 280cc and the 300ex engine has governor's on it the 250x's didnt so i think that 250x will be ahead in a drag but in a mx track its up to the rider i beat a guy on a modded raptor with a stock 400ex now i got a real rocket tho a 250r:D

My buddies stock 00 300ex will beat my 87 250x on the top end by a little bit. I think the problem is that mine has a 12 front sprocket on it, and I'm pretty sure that a 13 is what's supposed to be stock.

hey, nick verda wants to race u on his 300ex...2000, with not very many mods if any.....and they were talking in school today how cool it would be to video tape people ridding and jumping:huh little behind us, eh ben:D

TOP END on an EX and X are about the same. The only difference I could tell was mid range. The 300 has a little more mid range. Also the I think the 250 has like 247cc and the 300 has 282cc. But the 250 is probaly 25lbs lighter. Over the 300 has a tad bit more power.

racing 300's is fun. they think hey its just a 250cc and ive got a 300cc so i can beat him. aww just the look on their faces when you pass them in 4th gear and they're in 5th. its ssooooooo funny. also i learned my lesson once. a guy on a 300 that had been stroked and bored to a 450 but of course he didnt terll me. if you race for money make sure to learn about your opponent. last weekend i made 125 bucks racin different people around here. good money for 30 seconds worth of work eh?:blah

ive driven a 300ex and a 250x bored out to a 280 and the low end was the same but after that the 250x dominated. The 250x feeles morestable although they are the same.

dude, if you took a stock ex and a stock x they would be the same pretty much, a 300 is a slight bit faster top end like 2 or 3 mph, and who ever said they look different, dude there the exact same exept for a smaller engine. the only reason a 250 can hang is the weight to cc ratio. u 250 guys have beatin 300's and most the 300 guys have beatin 250's. it all depends on tha mods that have been done. like tha dude that said his is bored 280 and beat a 300, well duh, its bored dude! lol, boring it doesnt change any top speed at all, been there done that! it just accelerates very fast. now if you gear it tha right way, then it will gain about 7-10 mph depending on tha quad. you can also put taller tires and it will go pretty fast too. right now i feel that i could beat almost ne 250, but then again im tired as fuc*, lol! no seriously it all depends on the quad and quad rider. like my old 410 could spank a stock 400 ne day, so i think it could run laps a round a d-a-m-n 250x! lol! - i dunno just my 2 cents, -steven

i like my 250x. i feel that i don't really need the electric start and i got mine alot cheaper than i would get a 300ex probably. i also the frames and suspension and such on both bikes are identicle and the only reasone you might notice a difference is in the slightly less weight of a 250. the 300ex has the extra weight, 282cc as opposed to 247, but less compression. i've ridden both and they felt about the same stock, but i honestly still like my 250x better.

my friends got a 95 300ex.. i got an 87 250x.. his is a little faster, mines got a little more power.. we both got stock exhausts.. mine sounds way better! stock 300's sound gut less! i wouldnt mind havin one tho.. lol

I seen one at the flattrack a few weeks ago, and boy it ran real good,I would love to drag race one up against mine and see how well I would do...:)

250x is lighter and has a bit hotter cam and its kick instead of electric stock for stock the 250x should have a slight edge......other than that they are EXACTLY the same

bored and stroked to 450? did he have 3 jet engines running on noz on a quick connect to pull out of his back pocket incase of emergancys too? :huh no flame intended

sorry ive just never heard of a 300 being bored and stroked to 450 and still be realiable enough to take it for a ride

i had a 250x and liked it alot so when i got the money for a new quad i bought a stock 2001 300ex and it has a way harder pull off the nice and feels alot faster, but that could be due to compression loss over the years

yup what freeride said, a more aggresive cam, a little lighter, kick start, same look, there the same except those things

not to mention, but a 250x cant be 2 or 3mph faster becasue it has the same gearing, think about it

yea it was bored and stroked to a 450. he races it around here somewhere and he was testing something out with his freinds. he said it was a 330 kit with a 15mm stroker crank from TC. that thing was soooo fast

I went to San Jacinto Cycle Park (AKA Splendora) on Saturday and I rode my 250x there... it was havin a bit of trouble on the track b/c I havent gotten my tires and rims on it so I have pretty much drag slicks for tires right now, but I was practicing my starts with a few ppl and I beat out a Banshee for the holeshot.... I had two guys come by on their Raptors first they rode by it really slow and then they asked what the hell my quad was.. haha it was pretty funny.. my little X did surprise a few ppl tho :)

i have a 89 250x and i HATE driveing things that will top out where i live

what exack gearing will make it faster

also i might be boring it to 260
