Any ideas why ex has become increasingly difficult to shift and also why the neutral light stays on?

I'm pretty sure you need to adjust the clutch.Mine is doing the same thing. Is yours hard to get into neutal and when you are riding does it go into neutral on you sometimes? As far as the light goes I have no idea.

It hasn't slipped itself into neutral, but going through the gears it has more resistance than it should. Any ideas on the light?

does your quad start in gear ? if so your lights issue it's probably the wires tied together.

It will start in gear, but the light did not stay on before a rebuld but started doing it after the first heat cycle for break in. Should I try to adjust the clutch cable for easier or more fluid shifting?

i would say its problly your clutch if not u could have a bent shift fork thast all that rings a bell.

not hard at all if u know how to do it or if u have a manual. a good clutch would be EBC dirt racers really dont need an expensive one and deff dont get a cheap one. and u need a gasket when u do it. it should take less then an hour but if its your frist time take your time.

do the easy thing 1st, and its free, play with the adjuster on the lever, and on the clutch housing 1st. see if that helps.after that could be ur clutch,or could be worn dogs on ur selector.john

I did have them off for a rebuild. Is it possible that only one of the wires unplugged and that is why the light stays on?

I physically rode the bike, I think John may be right.
