Ok so i have an03 trx 400 ex ya ya ya... anyways ,.. i cant get it started once agian, i changed the plug out, it just turns over and wont fire, it wont even fire on a fart spray of either, so i checked the plug wire, and it has some spark but nothing amazing,.. any sugestions on what it could be. ? i was told by the honda dealer. "its usually never the coil, ever" which makes no sense to me at all.. any help would be amazing, thanks

If there is spark but no firing it sounds like a fuel starvation issue..

is the spark blue???

if not you have a spark problem

check the cdi box I have seen faulty cdi's cause problems like that

Ya has blue spark swapping out csi soon. Idk what else it could be

could be fuel,blocked jets or pet cock.could be timing.is ur kill switch in?
have u done any mods since u last started it up?.

it is not a fuel issue if a shot of startin fluid wouldn't hit a lick. Your problem is one of two things either a bad CDI box or a bad stator both can go bad and still put out a weak spark. Good Luck

have u rebuilt it recently, if not it could be low compression. I would check it.

check the cdi and replace the spark plug wire also what does it sound like when it turns over? does it have a chuging sound or just kind if free spin if it free spins you need some rings or an overhaul

Fresh rebuild last year chugs like he'll won't kick over

Just found out the stator in mine was cooked. For some reason noone ever seems to bring that up. It will start and run if you bypass it but once you put it in gear it will bog out and die because it isnt getting the spark it should be.

ok, i cleaned the carb, changed fuel, changed the plug.. still wont fire... it has spark from the plug wire alot of spark actually.. i dont know what to look for now.. guess im puttin a new stator in it
