I did a search already and didn't find much. Has anyone ever looked at using one of the 450r's Radiator on a 250r? Maybe there is a thread already if you could point me to it?

I was just looking at my 450r the other day and it has a much larger core than a 250r. Could easily fab up some billet mounts. Just a thought.

Not just Honda 450r, but LTR, YFZ, etc... the LTR looks promising to me.

Found this thread, but hasn't been updated since '04

that's the Honda 450r. The LTR450 is shorter with recesses for the frame.

I've seen it done. The radiator basically rests on the frame rails and is tilted backward along the angle of the stem. Not a good setup IMO. It seems to work better on the 400ex if a Rad is needed. The shrouds won't work on it either as far as I could tell.

It's pretty tall for the 250R frame.

A couple radiators that will work, with little mods is the LTZ400 and the YFZ450.

I'm going to check the KFX450 soon, since I have one of those. It'll need some mounts made on it though because it mounts so much different than the 250R rad.

So it can be done, and if you used an aftermarket oversize rad, you would have a LOT of cooling.

I may experiment with this a little.

I have some more pics that I'll try to upload if anybody is intersted. The lower rad mounts need to be cut off and some fabbed for the bottom.

The pipe also gets very close and needs protection on the rad hose.

So is that the KFX450r rad on there or LTZ or YFZ rad? yes, plz post more pics when you get a chance. I'm intrigued.. LOL. I would think the 450 stock rad would be similar in cooling to an aftermarket 250 rad, would that be a safe assumption?

BTW, is that a fibe industries hood?

I've also looked at pics of an LTR450 rad and it is shorter and wider than the others, (from the pics I've seen). It also has a recess for the upper frame rails. Wonder how one of those would fit.

I didn't buy it, a guy I know's brother did. It does have a CT cylinder on it and CT pipe, not sure if it's a 330 but it is aftermarket.

It's pretty rough if you ask me. I'll have to get pics tomorrow as I've misplaced the camera cable.

Probably doesn't help too much, but here are some pics of it. If someone really wanted a large capacity radiator, this would be the way to go with an oversize 450R radiator.
