Bigger Gas Tank for Cross Counrty Racing??

I tried searching for this answer but couldnt find anything. I race cross country and I was wondering if I needed a bigger gas tank to be able to finish a race without refueling. When I had my 01 400EX it had an IMS 4.3 gallon tank and I had plenty. I dont want to buy a tank if I dont have to. Lets hear it from the cross country racers. Thanks

i race xc i can run 4 hrs without filling up so you should be fine.

From what I have seen on TV the pro GNCC guys don't use bigger tanks. Their bikes are getting way worse mileage than a 400ex also. They will stop to re-fuel sometimes though.
