hey guys going to have a set of 450r shocks to through on the build for the GF...will they mount up fine with +2 +1's or do i really just want +2 +0? thanks guys..

I had +2+1 put on and 450R shocks fit to them no worries, but I don't think +2+1 is the perfect setup.

Now I spin out too easily. It's like I have massive oversteer, but I've had the bike to the workshop twice to make sure the steering geometry is right.

I contacted GTThunder about it afterwards, and they said +1 forward on the 400EX changes the weight distribution and the quad will not corner correctly, which is spot on.
The fix is to get a longer swing arm! $$$$$

It never ends!

How much longer? Would a 06-07 450r swinger be long enough for the +2 +1 arms??

That would be just about perfect, and a good cost alternative to going with an aftermarket extended swinger. Just don't get a 04-05 450R swinger because i'm sure you know already that it is the same length as a stock 400EX swinger.

How much longer is the '06-'07 swinger? Close to an inch, I would presume?

It's somewhere around an inch, not sure on the exact number. There was a thread on this not too long ago.

As far as the a-arms go I think that the shock mount location is not going to move even if the wheels are up an inch.

thanks for the info guys.. pretty much what i figured and thought lol.. anyone have some a arms they want to sell plus 2 ST lol.. cheap.. shape of PC doesnt matter just no mechanic fualts.. thanks again

Don't do it, I Think they are actually "shorter" than the 400ex's now.
