My 400ex project :D

My bike(2000 400ex) was in need of some TLC. I finally decided to do some. Well I went above and beyond.. Pulled the bike apart, had the frame powder coated.. Went and found stainless bolts to do most of the bike, the ones I couldn't get in stainless were replaced with all new oem ones. But couldn't stop there.. Wanted to add a lil bling to it, so I picked up a nice chrome LSR stem, along with a nice set of chrome A arms, gotta love ebay :D.. Sent my motor along with a stage 3 cam, crf450 timing chain, gt thunder head studs up to LOUIE at PPE in PA, to let them work there magic on the head( great guy to deal with).. It has been ported and polished.. I had previously had a weisco 440 kit installed in it, but never ran it, as this has been apart for about 2 years..Ready to go in is a hinson-duncan billet proof clutch.. Some of the other goodies is Tag bars, along with sidewinder sprockets, stainless rotors, brake lines all around.. Hmf will be the exhaust of choice, along with a 450r carb.. These are just some pictures of it.. I will have more when I get ready to put it all together which will be very soon.. I am pumped to finally get fire in the beast..
So far i think I am off to a good start, have made the right choices.. I have lurked alot on the forums..

hey man looks like a great start and like its going to be awesome when your done..what color plastic you going to be running.. im about to do a complete build for the GF.. frame up like you..looks good

man.. i wish I had the money to do all that. my bike is about in getting torn down and im getting my frame coated but im not doing half the stuff you are.. but while your at it i would get some new shocks and replace those crappy 400ex ones.

ya.. you my as well grab some stock 450r shocks.. you can get them for like 150..

Thanks guys.. I am going to keep the stock plastics for now which are red.. They are in really nice shape.. 450r shocks are in the works, but I havn't found a set yet that I think are worth the price.. I have not seen any go for less then 150 and been keeping a eye out on the bay.. The arms, swing arm are going to stay stock specs for awhile.. I loved the way the bike handled in stock form, I am not into competition riding, so i will see if I still like the ride.. :)
