My brother has a hmf slip on with a stock lid and it has no problems running. If you take of the lid i would say run a programmer.

Honestly dude even with a slip on, I would run a programmer. Im not trying to change your mind and I dont know your budget so dont get mad, just giving my $0.02, but DW is a ****ty mag, yamaha based magazine. With just a slip on, you will notice a little gain, but get more noise more than anything. If your wanting power, the BIG 3 is the way to go. I thought that a slip on would be fine and after a month I asked myself "what the hell was i thinking?" Because all I got was more noise. Not trying to start any kind of argument with anyone, just giving my opinion.

well you should be good with just the slip on however you can just put it on ride it do a spark plug read and go from there...worse comes to worse you will just have to wait a little while to get the programmer to make some noise

^^^^^ Agreed! ^^^

Slip on = noise

BIG 3 = Whole different quad and then it will really scream!
