Radar Runs

So at about ten this morning i decided to go try my hand at radar runs. My setup is a bone stock 2007 Honda 450r, with 18" cheng shin ice tires all studded up on 8" Baja rims. So i get there and there are about 10 atvs, and looking at them thinking im gonna get my butt kicked. So im like what the hell i line up and take 4 passes and to my suprise my best run was 73.6 mph. The fastest quad was 76 mph, and none of the other wheelers were stock at all. So all in all it was a pretty good day:D

How long was the track?

it is stock 07 gearing never changed any of the gears

A 5 minute sprocket change would yield a different winner. It's not like it doesn't have the power to pull it... it's not a power issue, its just gearing and tire sizes.

That seems fast for stock gearing and 18" tires. What do the tires actually measure?

Thats what i thought to but thats what the radar gun said. but then again my other speeds were in the high 50's so im not really sure what happened seems fishy but idk.

Im not sure what they actually measure never measured them maybe i will tomorrow. If i had the money i would buy a bigger front sprocket but im short on cash so its not gonna happen.

were you racing at the boat landing 3 in high falls? i was there racing mine...the only quads that beat mine were the couple 250r's that were in the 73 mph range. mine got 71.9. seeing yours is stock i highly doubt you beat me. musta read it wrong or something.

a front is bout $13 just so you know. And yeah, stock gearng and 18" tires, that high run sees a little high. Either way,I would love to radar my R

The other thing this actually isnt my R, its a buddies and he never uses it, he used it twice this last summer, i had to put a new battery in it cuz the old one was shot. and i have no income right now cuz i dont have a job. I know that the quad has more speed cuz it was still pulling at the 800' mark i know i wasnt topped out yet.

Yes i was at boat landing 3 and thats what the guy in the booth told me my top run was, so if it was read wrong wasnt me, thats what the board said, so i dont know what to tell you i was in class Quad 2, was that the same class u were in? im just telling what i was told. What does ur quad look like? i prolly seen u. was urs the white one i think on the oppsite side of the track as the booth?

I thought it seemed fast for it, maybe they read the radar gun wrong, maybe it malfunctioned, maybe there was miscommunication somewhere along the line but thats what was on the board.

I was in the quad 1 class. Yea mine was the white one. My guess is they probably read it wrong or somethin. I'm not tryin to be a dick to ya.sorry if it seemed like I was. But yea. Them 250rs were fast as hell. One of the guys let me use his crazy picked tires off his 250r and man that was the difference. I took off in second and couldn't keep the front end down.

oh ok so different classes but thats ok i didnt think u were being a dick, and that must have been after 230 cuz thats when i left. Are you heading up to Lake Noquebay in 2 weeks for there runs?

nah i dont think so. my dad was just going up north so i told him to bring mine along so i could try racing it. and yea my last two runs were at about 2:45 with the nice tires. i heard from someone that there are some drag races this weekend right by me. its right out in front of Harbor lights bar. i might go out there. dont know for sure yet. that race gas gets pretty expensive pretty quick.

^^wow lol my 400 probably went high 50's in fifth...sounds like you put a 450 motor in the 400ex lol
