Without knowing more, I'd guess that there is a vibration.
Please explain in more detail on what the clutch is doing.

Okey dokey,
How about that vibration? Is there any?
The outer face strips, but what about the splines on the crankshaft? Are they damaged?
Do you put the spring washer on correctly under the nut?
When you open it up, Is the nut tight on the face then bushing and the rest is broke off?
Are you using the long spacer/bushing or the newer style short spacer and big washer?
You've made double-triple sure that the key is aligned with the notch in the roller plate when you installed the front clutch? All that ain't spinning is it?
Is this a modified fixxed face?
The rod bearings (crank and piston) OK?
Grinding any? Crankshaft bearings?

Off the topic,,
Did the 96cc kit <EG> give you a noticable difference in power?
Did it give you what you expected?
:)

hrumph...
I still think that there is a "out of balance" situation somewhere.
I do think you have the variator on correct.
Does it still have compression? I'm thinking the piston sorta siezed and is causing problems.
You might want to pull the head and see if the cyl walls look ok.

What octane fuel are you running w/175# comp?

Too little octane may cause a detonation, which may be a source of vibration..

You never have answered my vibration question. When it was running, did it vibrate unuaually?

Man dude, I feel for ya here..For what you spent on that big bore, and the cost of the fixxed faces, you could have been close to a ported stock bore cylinder that would be dependable..:(

Curious, why did you choose the big bore option?

I don't know what more to say.
Something is making it grenade the clutch.
I thought sure it'd be a vibration.....:(
