We spent an entire day testing out 6 pipes and also formed a baseline with the stock pipe as well. Ill have more in detail specs on the entire days results soon.
I thought I would throw up a short clip. Hard to completely tell on the sound of the pipes with the eco of the buidling itself but they all sounded sweet!!
Our favorite sound was from the Looney Tunes and Big Gun- HMF was 3rd. The Rage pipe sounds mean but would never pass sound in our series .
I will say that ALL the pipes dynoed very close. Each pipe should fit a riders demends for his or her application.
We cant wait to test more over the spring and summer and are hoping we can eventually test most of the full system pipes that are on the market .
We are doing the test and tune for overall fit ,finish, sound, and performance, but noit solely based on that as each riders application and dyno will vary . We also dynoed to a RACERS application not to suck every single ounch of power to the brink of blowing it up to get our numbers. We have no doubt that we could squeeze another 4-5 hp this way but we have no reason for that. This was just to show an instance of what we have and tuning for racing conditions .This is to being informative and bias application. We thought this might be a great piece of info that will hopefully benefit many when making choices . We will have dyno charts up soon!
enjoy !! :)

Thats why it would be in the Raptor 250 section .lol :p ;)

this is a 298cc BB kit.We run the 12.5.1 on this kit.
We dynoed with foam rather than the K&N style as this suits our racing application. We also run an airbox for wet racing conditions.I would like to to see a difference on the future of the filter change. Jetting was a a little rich but not overally, we never run our race quads jetted completely leaned out and run Sunoco .
Carb was the FCR 33mm and is was a nice upgrade over stock.

3rd gear at 40MPH. not bad!!! :D

Oh yea duh. didn't think to look at that. So how many HP's is it putting out?

Ill post it up soon with the charts . I will say however to fine tune to its max potential on strickly a power basis only we could easily pull 28's. Stock is around 17 -our baseline was higher than that due to the FCR Carb abd motor with stock pipe.

Any trouble fitting the fcr33?

Actually we did . The rear boot and the airbox was hard to manuever because of the wiring harness and overall having everything hooked up .The clutch cable bracket on the motor had to be bent down and out of the way to clear the float bowl. Then we had to spin the rear shock line we were hitting the accelerater pump.

One thing we were very pleased on was the torque ! :macho

The pipes in short clip are the following order :
Motoworks
Big Gun
HMF
FMF
RAGE
LTE

We recently spent an entire day testing 6 pipes on DB 's performance - basically overall on each pipe at the Dyno.Pipes we tested were the following:
RAGE
Looney Tune
Motoworks
FMF
HMF
Big Gun

We would like to try and test all the as many pipes as we can that are on the market and see what kind if results are between them all on overalls....
This will be a full season project for us .

I will say that having the FCR33mm Carb was def. worth the upgrade for the tuneability alone and can roughly expect gains of 2 HP over stock Carb on a modded motor. It was also much easier to tune .

There are a thousand variations to each persons application, this is with OURS and our findings will remain 100% UNBIAS.
IT was cool hearing all the different pipes ! Def. some sweet sounds !!
One thing we really liked about this is ALL the pipe runs are being done the same way on the same Dyno. Every Dyno will be slightly different and we dont "pad " numbers. Ours was dynoed for racing conditions and slightly fat, which is what most folks want to see to begin with to remain reliable.....

We spent around 6 hours testing 6 pipes. We tested with the Pro Design, dual stage air filter ,fully oiled and jetted for a longevity race( on the richer side) versus say.... a shorter race or a 15 minute moto for example or a lean drag race . We jetted EVERY pipe accordingly.
The GYTR being a fiber filter it will probably breathe better than foam, but again, we are setting our results for the all around rider/racer conditions and elements. This was a test of pipes, not all based off HORSEPOWER GAINS solely.

I cannot stress the importance of EVERYONE knowing why we done this. .....
We wanted to touch base on each pipe,Sound, overall appreance fit and finish and performance and share our experience with everyone .

We also wanted to really see just what a big bore kit can do and do it SAFELY. I think you will find a respectable 24 is going to be the mainstream on most so far .
By changing filters ,leaning it out and cutting corners, fans blowing into the motor...I have no doubt we can easily get it to 27-28 HP with our specific application.

Our testing was performed by two guys who has over 10 years of experience . The other guy is an FCR Specialist.

Carb worked awesome. I was abit nervous and Ive heard pros and cons. It was a nice addition for making jetting changes .
We ran a baseline with a stock pipe-but the carb installed.. Not 100% on what it is stock, but we THOUGHT it was around 17HP .

I think what impressed us the MOST on our motor run was the torque! Def. had to call the builder and let them know what the torque specs are . VERY impressive!!
Our favorite sound was from the Looney Tunes and Big Gun- HMF was 3rd. The Rage pipe sounds mean but would never pass sound in our series .We really liked Big Gun and the LTE for a sweet sound and overall trick looking pipe, but unfortunately, they will not fit with Rath Heel guards(note this for any potential buyers in the market for a pipe)....

I will say that ALL the pipes dynoed very close. Each pipe should fit a riders demands for his or her application.
We cant wait to test more over the spring and summer and are hoping we can eventually test most of the full system pipes that are on the market .
Again....we are doing the test and tune for overall fit ,finish, sound, and performance, but not solely based on that as each riders application and dyno will vary .
AGAIN...we dynoed to a RACERS application not to suck every single ounch of power to the brink of blowing it up to get our numbers. We have no doubt that we could squeeze another 4-5 hp this way but we have no reason for that. This was just to show an instance of what we have and tuning for racing conditions .This is to being informative and bias application.
We ended up racing the HMF at WORCS Round 2 last month .

We thought this might be a great piece of info that will hopefully benefit many when making choices .

ENJOY !!
