rear linkage

i have a works rear shock with an eye to eye measurement of 16 1/4 inch. bolting upto 89 swinger. could i use 86 bone with no loss of height or should i get 89 linkage?

the shock you have is suppose to be used with a 86 dogbone i believe.

The 88 would put it to high because hte 88 shocks were shorter.
