I really would like to paint the engine, while I have the bike apart for the rebuild but my dad thinks it will make the engine run hotter thus more unreliable. I don't disagree with this but I was wondering if anyone knew for sure.

I'm pretty sure PCing doesn't affect heat enough to make the motor run any different or make it more unreliable.

I recently painted my engine BLACK and feel no heat difference...?

go black for the motor it helps disapate heat better

Ya my dads 200x which is all built up has a black motor and it doesnt seem to bother it and todays cooling system is better than they were in 86

my 250r had 2 black motors on it, both ran just fine with no over heating problems. Im going to paint mine on my 400 also

Paint it any color you want . Just try to avoid thick and high gloss. The black is best color idea is a misunderstood myth .
