Have you ever bought a quad without riding it? Have you ever bought a model of quad without having ridden that particular model?

I bought my 05 450R and had never ridden any of the new 450s. I didn't ride it until time to leave the dealership after I had already paid for it.

I'm heading out tomorrow for a 3 1/2 hr drive to pick up a leftover 700XX and I've never ridden one of those either.

Any one else do this?

When I got my ktm i had never actually seen one in person. The picture of it was really bad too. I drove 9hrs to go get it and already had the check filled out, i hoped i would like it on that drive! haha

Bought my 09 DS 450 XXC without ever riding a DS before. I had only sat on a DS at my local shop before buying one. Drove 5 hours with check in hand to buy it. After buying it took it to my brothers house and finally rode it for the first time. So far no real regrets.

I’ve bought many new bikes without ridding them. But I always ride a used bike before I put any money down.

I bought my YFZ without ever riding it, or any other 450 for that matter. I did sit on the Honda, Yami and Kawi before making my decision though.

I'm on my second quad ever..been riding for less than a year.

The first one was a 4x4 (boring) sold it and bought a 400ex.

I took my first ride on both on my way to the trailer.

Bought a new leftover 400ex in 2002- only test ride was the one up the ramp into the pickup bed. Bought a 2003 CBR600RR as soon as they were released...w/o riding it, and the same for my 2005 ZX10. I bought that bike not too long after they got done uncrating it! All my used bikes were a quick rip thru a field or up the street.

I bought both of my quads used, and tore them down completely before ever riding them. But, I built them back up to pro competition level quads so I could be competitive racing them. Prior to racing ATV's, I raced bikes. So, I knew what had to be done with the quad before needing to ride it. Oh, I have an 88' LT250R & an 88' TRX250R.

I bought my Yz450 without ever riding a 450. I've rode 300's and 500's but never a 450 till I got mine.

Bought my 250r as a roller that came with the motor but no electrical. Drove it around the yard twice then decided to rebuild it

Only had ever driven a Blaster before that.

i think thats a bad move espically if the bike is used. there could be something wrong with a gear etc.. i could see it for a new quad but i would still want to ride one because you dont know the power of the motor or how it handles or any of that. if i went out right and bought a brand new yfz450 with out riding one a would be upset same with the LTR. i just didnt like how they felt and the power curve on them.

that must be the only one cause i have been to several dealers in many states and never saw a track you could ride quad before you buy it that just is stupid ,what if the customer wrecks the quad and gets hurt and sues dealer,i dont understand why a dealer would take that risk ,there are two many losers out there trying to get something for nothing and that would be a haven for them.

Bought my 08 LTR at an ATV show for a sick price... obviously couldn't ride it there (plus I didn't know how to ride a manual quad yet either haha).

ive bought 3 bikes with out riding them. first was a 87 mojave, and we actually bought two, and combined them to make a complete quad. next was the warrior, which my dad took for a quick spin up the street, but not me. and the last is my current quad, a 400ex. bought it pretty much sight unseen,, didnt run, needed work and lots of TLC.

my cousin just bought a 06 LTR and never rode it. it had been wrecked and needed a front wheel but on the good side its a nice bike for $1800

few days later about 2 days ago his buddy bought a 05 Trx450r in FL after the GNCC race and never rode it so when he got home to ride it the transmission was tore out. it was a pretty setup bike for $2300 but now i know why it was $2300

back in 08 i traded my 400ex for the yfz i have now and it was pouring rain so i didnt get to ride it either but luckly i got lucky and it was good running bike

About 2 months ago I bought an 04 trx 450r, it didn't run, the guy cracked the right side case cover up by the kicker. He then buried it in the mud. The inside was nasty to say the least, but after alot of cleaning and a friend of mine rebuilding the engine for me (everything new) and now I have a very nice quad for under $1000. This is my first quad and I am loving it, and having friends that know this stuff helped.

let me let you in on a little secret for that R. DONT EVER TOUCH THE GAS WHEN KICKING IT. Thats what probably caused that case to crack and break. Plus, that kicker comes back up with enough force to break your ankle/foot. I sprained my ankle for a solid 2 weeks because of it.

I bought my 450r without riding it. We just loaded it up into the truck from the dealer and went home. Then I rode it and fell in love. I didnt care if i didnt like the way it felt, I was going to make it feel right for me. I dont wanna mess with EFI, Aluminum frames or Yamaha's....Honda's for me regardless.

Saw a hybrid for sale on here, looked at the 2 pictures, drove 5 hours to get it, rode it for about 30 seconds at 11 at night when i got there, got the cops called, payed then left.

The dealers here do a credit approval on you and you sign this paper saying you will buy it or repair it, if you wreck it and that they are not responsible for any injuries. I think you have o ride it before you buy it JMHO.:D
