I've never broken a buckle on the 2 pairs I've had. One pair goes back to 2006.

I trail ride in Fly 3/4 length boots. Less than $100. They are the most waterproof boot I've found. The Alpinestars aren't leak proof.

I have Tech 3's in black/red (to match my LTR!) and after a year (bought them last valentines day) they have held up excellently!

They are just the regular MX model, not the trail/ATV ones or whatever. My feet don't get wet in them (have ridden in the rain multiple times, even was going straight at like 50km/h and there was a 2 foot drop into a big puddle that was pretty muddy at the bottom and the inside of my foot didn't get wet!).

I ride at my farm as well as on the trails and they are great. Have ridden a bit of MX with them and they have performed well there.

They take a while to break in though... for the 1st 4-6 hours (don't remember exact number) I hated them... to shift I had to lift/push my entire foot up/down, was really uncomfortable. By the time it was May I was comfortable in them, and now I completely love them and riding in anything but them feels weird!
