Anyone have any suggestions on how to get my 8 year old able to kick his new 90 over? I am clueless. I don't know if they have an aftermarket lever which might provide a greater lever force, or if anyone has any tips to teach him (right now he is out there everyday trying so he can get stronger, I told him he can't ride it till he can start it:devil: ) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Maximus, my boy had the same problem, but I just got him to practice every day till he got the snap !!.

I have a freind who extended/welded the arm on the kicker by about an inch , and it made it a lot easier !

Is his foot slipping off? If so try changing to an Eton kickstarter, much easier and foot doesn't slide off

His foot is staying on ok. He just doesn't have the umph to get it down fast enough. He is getting closer but so far no good, and Worcs said he can't ride unless he can start it. Where shoud I get the eton kick lever?

You can try a koso kickstarter, has a bit better leverage. FYI, i havent seen the worcs tech guy checking for the kids starting this year. When do you plan to try a worcs race?

pm me your home address, and i will send your boy a WORCS racing Youth 2009 DVD. He will get to see what the racing is all about.

I just sent Worcs an email and they said he would have to start it. Teri at apex said the same thing, that they wouldn't check him, but I figure the smart thing is for him to be able to start it just in case.

Thanks about the info on the other kick starters

We are in northern CA, so for this year we are going to hit Honey Lake, and if he does well we will make the trips down south next year.

Find you a polaris scrambler 50/90 or predator 90 kickstarter, even a old xtreme 50 70 90 100 tantrum kickstarter. They are longer and offer more leverage. Also show him how to hold the throttle open steadily instead of jabbing it when he kick starts it.
The latest ones from eton haven't been having a place for the 6mm bolt to go thru to hold it on.

Got the Koso, it is longer, but he still can't quite get it....we are both about ready to explode. I am making him do squats so he can get his legs stronger.

Sounds like you may need to get a custom one made at you local welding shop. My son is 11 and still struggles from time to time. Someone should be able to extend the stock one for you with a little welding.

My son had the same problem and I just adjusted it back a tooth or two so he could raise his foot an inch or two above and get a run at it. Works for him!!

Thanks for all the advice. Just the other day he was going to let a friend ride it and the friend was trying to start it, my son got on and to show the other boy up he kicked it over right away. I guess I just need to bring his friend along for motivation.:)
