14:1 good battery, slow to turn over,good when jumped

high comp. 14:1 stock bore, just got a brand new battery and it wont spin it over fast enough to start, every now and then it will but usuall have to jump it, is this normal with this high a comp. and what do you guys do to fix it. Im asking for a friend ive been helping out

These small batteries aren't gonna turn over a 14.1 compression piston. KICKSTART TIME... I hope he has a strong leg and weight to back it :muscle: .

You can try and oversize battery. We always ran a bigger street bike battery in our quads. Do a little searching. I dont remember the exact battery we used.

That's a lot of compression for those little batteries to turn over. Do a search, the most common one is a motorcycle battery but like younggun95, I can't recall which model is usually used. This will require some trimming in the battery tray.

Have your battery tested and warrantied if needed. NEW means nothing with atv batteries.

brought it back and tested they said it was perfect, even put it on a charge for me, same problem, just need a bigger battery i guess. how much kick start cost?
