head pipe getting red HOT

my cuz has an 05 660 hot cams full HMF 27.5 poi;lot jet 165 main jet stock needle on the 2nd clip and the head pipe is getting red HOT i can lite a smoke off it affter like 10 min but if u rev it up it cools the pipe a bit can you guys help

Sounds to me like its running lean. Probably needs rejetted

check your plug to see if its lean

if its white its lean

if its black its rich----this is what you want

it should b fine. my yfz 450r gets that hot, my 07 yfz did to

They all do it when sitting still, mine did it when I unloaded it out of the truck the night I brought it home from the stealership.

While it might get red, still is sign of being a lil to lean.. I would do as mentioned and check the plug. You want it to be a nice shade of brown( almond color), if it isn;t it is lean for sure... :)
