R Market value?

I am in the process of finding an R but I am having trouble finding one under 2500.00! What are they selling for in your neck of the woods? Im from nebraska
I went an looked at a 88 the owner said it was in really good shape! Well I thought it was in average shape? It did have a pipe and 450r shocks but that was it?
Is this a fair price? I dont want to lowball people but I dont want to get raped eather?

You should have no problems finding a 250R under $2500. Lots go for $1000 - $1500 in Michigan and Ohio.

Unless you want a fixer upper, $2000-$2500 should be a good price for something that has had work done to it.

Im from louisville originally, just south on hwy 50. I live in Houston now but it sucks so i think im going to move back. I have a buddy who lives in gretna, ill see if he knows of anyone wanting to get rid of an r.

You should move back! Then go to the IATVHSS that is one hell of a good time...
I would prefer an 88 or 89 I also would be willing to trade depending on the R my yfz for it!

I plan on moving back in the spring. You should come to little sahara in Oklahoma. Im meeting some buddies their a couple of weeks after easter. Its been about 3 years since have rode my r. I locked up the motor a few years ago and was to broke through college to do anything about it. Im just about done putting it back together. Newer TCS shocks and leager suspension, new plastic and a 265 duncan powervalve. I don't even want to know how much money ive spent. I just hope it beats my buddies banshee!!

That is if we are not racing that weekend... You are going to need some serious porting on your R.... No replacement for displacement!
