pro armour nerf bars

i am going to get double net nrf bars for my yfz, does the black scratch off the bar from stepping on them or w.e?

stepping on them wont hurt them, but driving over tall grass, debris coming off the front tires will wear through the finish.. same thing that happens to lower a arms..
