well it depends on what you budget is. For around $600 you could get an fcr39 carb, hotcams and a a drze kit. That will wake it up a bit and its not too difficult to do yourself.

What is the drz kit? I read that if you do the drz cams that it will pick it up is that true?

the ex boot will get ya 2-3 hp but it wont fit to your air box unless
the front of the box is removed replaced with a plate of aluminum
and a 3'' hole made higher up on the box, i found getting through the plate with a short pice of 3'' muffler pipe then slip a air filter on and the air boot clamp and your good to go ,and no box lid.
the ex boot has to be cut to shorten it but only cut the bigger end. rejet will be needed to be done, with at least a 142.5 and maybe a 25 pj

The drze kit gives you a thinner base gasket which bumps your compression up to about 12.2 to 1 also gives you dual valve springs, a new head gasket, valve seals, exhaust gasket and a cam chain tensioner gasket. Might not be a bad idea to get some new rings for the piston while you're in there and a light hone on the cylinder. You dont want to hone it much at all as your cylinder is nicasil coated and you dont want to ruin that. You just need to freshen up the cross hatches so the new rings break in right. The drze cams are a bit more agressive than our stock cams. Just FYI there are different trim levels of the drz. The E is the one with the hopped up motor.

the good drz-e cams are marked A and B the leters can be found on the gearded end of the cam center.
hotcams are a slightly better grind and easer to find
