checkout arizonaquads.com/forum. I know there are a few guys on there that plan on racing this year. I want to this event someday but it won't be this year

I don't know how much of this is true, but I've heard there's a Long list of to do's to be able to get in that race.
I Heard the Entry Fee was almost $1,000
Physical, and many other things.
I've also heard you need to start signing up as soon as the race is over to get in for the next years race.
As i said, those are some of things i've heard and don't know how accurate they are.

Not really...it only costs 1000 bucks if you wait. The sooner you sign up the cheaper it is, which is why a lot of rider/drivers probably sign up early. And because the risk of getting seriously injured is greater at race like this the registeration is a little more extensive than say a local MX race. Below info is from the ppihc website:

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Board of Directors, as well as the race committee, is very proud to announce that they have approved, and added a new 2010 “Exhibition Powersport” class to the 88th Running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb’s “Race to The Clouds.”

Because of the interest that has been generated regarding the new and what is becoming popular in the motorsports industry; UTV’s, 750cc-up ATV’s and Electric Motorcycles, an “Exhibition Powersport” class has been added to the motorcycle division in this year’s “Race to the Clouds” event.

The race committee has recently fielded several requests for these three types of vehicles and should the response and registration to this additional class be successful in 2010, it will be considered by the Board and race committee to add these classes to the 89th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb event.

It is important to know that the number of entries per vehicle type will be limited, and will be based on a first-come first-serve basis. This will allow the officials to familiarize themselves with the new class so that they will be prepared to handle these special vehicles as well as any special issues that might present themselves during practice and then for our spectacular event on June 27th. For safety purposes the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will be issuing the competitor''s their racing vehicle numbers. There will be no exceptions!

For any technical questions regarding this new class please e-mail Randy Ruyle: rlruyle@hotmail.com or Sonny Anderson: la-sonny@att.net

Race Applications

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The current Pikes Peak International Hill Climb application procedure consists of four steps that must be completed before the applicant can be accepted to compete.

The steps are as follows:
1. Review the Deadlines & Fees associated with your division or class so you are aware of the differences and the total cost associated with your application deadlines.

2. Next, there are three forms that need to be filled out:
a) REGISTER ONLINE or complete the Request for Invitation Form
or Request for Invitation Form-RMVR (RMVR registrations only)
b) Physical Examination Form

The Request for Invitation is a PDF form that allows you to fill out each field from your computer. After you have completed the form you may email, mail or fax the form to the PPIHC office.

The Physical Examination Form needs to be completed and signed by your physician. This form can also be sent by email, mail or fax to the PPIHC office. If you have a current license from another sanctioning body, ie. SCCA, FIA, you will not need to complete the Physical Examination Form. If this is the case, PLEASE stipulate so when submitting your application. You will be asked to show proof of this document at registration.

Once the office receives your request for entry and payment of fees, we can start the "Acceptance" phase of the process. Staff will review the information and notify you within 10 business days of receipt as to the status of your application.
